Osun APC opposes Adeleke’s plan to rehabilitate bridge

The directive by the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, that the Olaiya Flyover in Osogbo be rehabilitated has been rejected by the All Progressives Congress.

In a statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed obtained in Osogbo on  Sunday,  Adeleke expressed “worry about the worsening state of the bridge,” ordering its immediate rehabilitation ahead of the commissioning of the new Okefia flyover bridge, constructed by his administration.

“The ministry of Works should immediately act on this Olaiya bridge. Let us clean it up. It is a state asset. We must ensure its proper maintenance. This should be done before we commission Okefia bridge

“I believe government is a continuum. All inherited projects are being completed by our government and all completed projects by the previous administrations must be appropriately maintained,” the governor said.

But the Osun APC rejected the move, saying the bridge is in good shape and
