The Independent National Electoral Commission in Osun State has assured that the internal crises within the state chapter of the National Union Road Transport Workers, will not adversely affect logistics for the August 15, 2026 governorship election in the state.
The Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oluwatoyin Babalola, gave the assurance on Sunday in Osogbo at a town hall meeting organised by the Civil Society Network on Election Integrity.
The town hall meeting had in attendance representatives of civil society organisations, security agencies, media, Persons with Disabilities and traditional rulers among others.
Babalola said transportation remains critical to the success of the election, noting that failure in that area could jeopardise the entire process.
