The Oyo State Police Command has successfully rescued a 17-year-old male, Daneri Alhaji Yaro, who was abducted in the early hours of 5 August 2026 at Aladere Village, via Ikoyi-Ile, near the Government Reserve Forest.
Ayanlade Oluseyi Olayinka, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Oyo State Police Command in statement said the successful rescue underscores the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring that criminal elements find no safe haven within the state.
The rescue operation was initiated following a distress report received from Alhaji Yaro Babuga, the victim’s father, at the Ikoyi-Ile Divisional Police Headquarters. Acting swiftly on the information, the Divisional Police Officer immediately mobilised a combined team comprising Police operatives, members of the Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes, and hunters to the scene in a coordinated search-and-rescue mission.
He stated that the joint security team commenced an intensive combing of the surrounding bushes
