The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has accused the state government of conducting an illegal voter registration exercise inside the Dan Archibong Lodge at the Government House in Calabar.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Prince Mike Ojisi, the opposition party described the alleged activity as a grave threat to Nigeria’s electoral integrity and urged immediate investigation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Inspector-General of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies.
The PDP warned that unauthorized voter registration could undermine the credibility of future elections and erode public confidence in the democratic process.
It called on authorities to identify those responsible and prosecute them in line with the law.
