PDP Condemns Attack on Party Chieftain, Journalists in Ebonyi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State has condemned an attack on Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain who recently defected, along with his supporters and journalists.

The incident occurred on Saturday at Idembia in Ezza South Local Government Area of the state.

The party alleged that agents and appointees of the APC-led Ebonyi State Government carried out the attacks.

It also claimed that PDP supporters and members have faced threats from the same sources in recent weeks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the PDP, the attackers were led by a former member of the House of Representatives, senior state government officials, an ex-PDP chairman of Ezza South Local Government, and others.

At a press briefing in Abakaliki on Saturday night, state PDP chairman Chukwuma Igwe said vehicles were damaged and several people assaulted with dangerous weapons.

He added that eight persons are currently receiving treatment in hospital.Igwe
