The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party and residents of Kaiama Local Government Area of the state have lamented the delay in rescuing the 176 women and children abducted during the February attack on Woro community.
They accused the federal and Kwara state governments of failing to secure the victims’ release nearly six months after the incident.
The criticism came as hundreds of residents on Friday staged a peaceful protest in Kaiama town, demanding actions from President Bola Tinubu, the state government and security agencies to rescue the victims, who have remained in captivity for over 171 days.
The protesters marched through major streets of Kaiama on Friday carrying placards bearing various inscriptions, including “Bring Back Our Women and Children” and “It Has Been 171 Days in Captivity.”
