Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman and ex-Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has dismissed the potential Peter Obi-Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso presidential ticket under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as unviable, declaring it “dead on arrival” in Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Ganduje argued that the proposed alliance lacks the necessary political strength, governance experience, and legacy to win support in Kano, a key electoral battleground.
“I don’t think Peter Obi and Kwankwaso’s ticket will succeed in Kano. It will not succeed. In fact, it is dead on arrival,” Ganduje stated bluntly. He questioned former Anambra Governor Peter Obi’s record, asking, “What did he do as a governor? What legacy did he leave as a governor?”
Ganduje added that Obi has not demonstrated sufficient experience in governance to lead Nigeria at the national level.
