The signage indicating the direction to the office of the purported presidential foreign intervention promotion council (PFIPC), also referred to as the presidential economic advisory council (PEAC), still remains at the federal secretariat in Abuja.

 

A visit to the federal secretariat on Monday showed that the PFIPC signage remains mounted on the floor occupied by the federal ministry of health, directing visitors to the office.

 

The federal secretariat houses offices of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), making it the administrative hub of the federal civil service.

 

Despite no legal framework or presidential declaration, PFIPC operated like a government agency with allocation in the 2026 budget, office at the federal secretariat, and recruitment of staff.

 

 

HOW THE CONTROVERSY STARTED

 

In June, the presidency distanced itself from the PFIPC, insisting that it does not exist under the current administration.
