The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected drug dealers and recovered 5,676 pieces of assorted suspected illicit drugs during intelligence-led raids across the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lawan Adam, that the suspects were identified as Umar Rabiu, also known as Sarka, 22, of Unguwar Gamji; Auwalu Muhammad, 25, of Gusau Quarters; and Umar Akilu, 25, of Kuka Village.
The PPRO noted that the operations formed part of the command’s ongoing crackdown on the sale, distribution and abuse of illicit substances.
“The operations, which form part of the Command’s ongoing crackdown on the sale, distribution and abuse of illicit substances, led to the recovery of 5,676 pieces of assorted suspected illicit drugs from the suspects,” the statement read.
He noted that the recovered exhibits included 3,833 tablets of Exol, 204 tablets of tramadol, 919 tablets of diazepam,
