The Osun State Police Command has arrested and detained the Secretary to the Osun State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, along with five other suspects following a raid on his residence in Osogbo.
During the raid, officers recovered millions of naira in cash, voter cards and other items now being investigated as possible evidence of electoral offences.
The police said the operation was carried out after intelligence reports indicated that members of a criminal gang were hiding at the residence.
According to the command, one of those arrested at the property, Oladele Abiodun, was already on the police watchlist in connection with alleged criminal offences.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, the command said officers also arrested Akande Taiwo, Adeyemo Lukman, Olaoye Muftau and Aderemi Musliu during the operation.
