The Rivers State Police Command said its operatives have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the murder of two policemen in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State.
The command said the officers were on a stop-and-search duty in the Aluu area on June 29th, 2026 when the miscreants launched a commando-style attack, opened fire on them and carted away their AK-47 rifles.
According to a statement by the two operatives, one had one of his legs amputated due to gunshot injuries he sustained and eventually succumbed to death while being treated in the hospital.
Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Blessing Agabe, disclosed this in the statement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday and sent to newsmen.
Agabe, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the arrest of the suspects followed the directives of the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, for a swift probe, arrest of the criminals
