Port Harcourt, the Garden City of Rivers State, may be testing its global outlook with an international marathon race.
The race is an elevation of the 10-year old Garden City Marathon which has been elevated to Port Harcourt International Marathon Race.
According to Goodluck Azunwena (Convener), the city has been pressed down for many years, but wants to take back its place in the international arena.
Addressing the press to announce the unveiling of the international marathon, Azunwena for 10 years, Port Harcourt to the World has pursued a simple but ambitious mission, which is to tell a different story about the garden city. “While our voice on social media grew quiet, our work never stopped.
“Behind the scenes, we have collaborated, supposed, advised, and championed initiatives that celebrate the resilience, creativity, culture, enterprise, and limitless potential of Port Harcourt.”
