Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo, has responded to Davido‘s appeal for him not to “interfere” in the upcoming Osun governorship election, advising the singer to direct his concerns to voters instead.
Uzodimma, who chairs the All Progressives Congress (APC) national campaign council for the August 15 election, also took a swipe at Davido’s uncle, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing his administration as a “woeful failure” and suggesting the singer should prepare to employ him as a dancer after the polls.
On Wednesday, Davido addressed supporters of the Accord Party in Osogbo, saying he had heard rumours of alleged plans by Uzodimma to disrupt the election.
The Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star pleaded that residents of Osun should be allowed to choose their preferred candidate in a peaceful contest.
