The House of Representatives Committee investigating the activities of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) on Monday directed Olatunji Disu, the Inspector-General of Police, to produce the self-acclaimed Director-General of the organisation, Adeyemi Adeniyi, before lawmakers within 48 hours.
The order was issued during the committee’s resumed investigative hearing at the National Assembly in Abuja after a representative of the Nigeria Police Force appeared before the panel.
Bashir Abdullahi, Assistant Commissioner of Police , who represented the Inspector-General, was instructed to ensure that Adeyemi appears before the committee by 12 noon on Wednesday to answer questions relating to the ongoing probe into the activities of the council.
The House committee is investigating how the PFIPC, which lawmakers say has no legal backing, allegedly secured office accommodation at the Phase III Federal Secretariat in Abuja and was allocated ₦1.32bn in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
