Former House of Representatives member and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Rivers State, Sokonte Davies, has resigned his membership of the party, citing concerns over its direction, internal processes and broader political trajectory.
Davies announced his decision in a letter dated August 12 and addressed to the Ward Chairman of the ADC, Ward 10, Tombia, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The letter, personally signed by Davies, followed what he described as a period of sober reflection on his political journey, principles guiding his public engagement and expectations regarding the direction of the party.
Davies had served at the national level as the National Secretary of the ADC Membership Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration Committee, a responsibility he said he undertook with a strong sense of duty and commitment.
