The Rotary Club of Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, has installed consultant ophthalmologist, Dr Modupe Olorunnimbe, as its president for the 2026/2027 Rotary year.
According to a statement on Monday, the investiture also featured the inauguration of the club’s board of directors for the new Rotary year.
Speaking after her installation at the weekend, Olorunnimbe said the club would build on the achievements recorded during its inaugural year by expanding sustainable projects across Rotary International’s seven areas of focus.
She disclosed that her administration would prioritise digital education for visually impaired pupils, medical and eye screening programmes, treatment of preventable eye conditions, maternal and child health initiatives, environmental sanitation and anti-bullying campaigns in schools.
“Our vision is simple. We will strengthen our fellowship, deepen our impact and expand our reach.
“Together, we will continue to deliver meaningful and sustainable projects in maternal and child health, disease prevention, education and economic empowerment,”
