An All Progressives Congress chieftain in Ekiti State, Henrich Akomolafe, has described the Supreme Court judgment affirming Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the party’s candidate in last month’s governorship election as another opportunity to deepen the state’s development agenda.
Akomolafe said this in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday while congratulating Oyebanji on the apex court’s verdict.
He described the judgment as “a victory for democracy and the collective will of the people of Ekiti State.”
An APC governorship aspirant, Abimbola Olawunmi, had challenged Oyebanji’s emergence as the party’s candidate. However, the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the suit and affirmed Oyebanji as the APC candidate.
Akomolafe said, “The judgment presents another opportunity for the administration to deepen its development agenda while promoting peace, unity and inclusive governance throughout Ekiti.
