Secondary school teachers’ union seeks parents, govt collaboration

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Sola Adigun, has canvassed greater collaboration among teachers, parents and governments for the development of students and the education sector.

He urged teachers in the country to remain dedicated and strive to become impactful educators who positively influence the lives of their students.

The ASUSS national president spoke in Ado Ekiti on Thursday during an interactive multicast anchored by the Ekiti State Bureau of Community Communications.

Adigun, who described teachers as guardians and mentors who work in partnership with the government and parents to nurture students during school hours, appealed to parents to live up to their responsibilities by providing proper care, guidance and support for their children.

He said, “The students, on their part, should remain focused on their education, work hard to achieve their goals and shun cultism and other social vices.
