Another major Nigerian refinery is edging closer to petrol production, with the nearly completed Azikel Refinery in Bayelsa State expected to strengthen domestic fuel supply and support Nigeria’s push for greater energy independence.

The development comes as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Bayelsa State Branch, described the $1 billion project as a world-class engineering feat capable of driving industrialisation, job creation and economic growth across the Niger Delta.
