For Jordan Willmore, standing 7 feet 3 inches tall has always made him impossible to miss. But it is his determination to serve his community, not his towering height, that is now inspiring people around the world.
The aspiring police officer recently became the tallest recruit in his police academy after passing his entrance examination on a second attempt, thanks to the encouragement and support of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Willmore had narrowly missed qualifying the first time, falling short by just one point. Rather than letting the setback define him, he was given another opportunity to take the exam, a chance made possible with O’Neal’s support.
On his second attempt, Willmore passed, bringing him one step closer to fulfilling a lifelong ambition of becoming a police officer.
Before pursuing law enforcement, Willmore played professional basketball overseas. Yet despite opportunities on the court, he remained committed to a different calling:
