The slain organising secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Toba Ajiboye, popularly known as Toba Ijaya, was laid to rest in Ketu, Lagos, on Tuesday amid tears from family members, colleagues, friends and supporters.
Viral videos seen by PUNCH Metro showed a large crowd of mourners paying their last respects to the union leader.
Ajiboye died after succumbing to gunshot injuries sustained when unidentified gunmen attacked his vehicle in the Fadeyi area of Lagos on Sunday evening.
The Lagos State Police Command had earlier confirmed the attack and said a manhunt was underway for the assailants.
Reacting to the killing, the Lagos State NURTW Chairman, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, described Ajiboye as a loyal ally, dependable friend and committed union leader.
