Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, on Wednesday hosted the retiring former Anambra State Commissioner of Police, AIG Ikioye Orutugu.
Soludo hosted Orutugu during the Anambra State Executive Council meeting, praising him before key government officials for his service as Commissioner of Police in the state.
Orutugu was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) and officially retired on Wednesday.
Soludo lauded Orutugu for his unwavering commitment, professionalism, and tactical leadership in maintaining law and order throughout his tenure as head of the Anambra State Police Command.
“Your fight against criminals who posed as freedom fighters cannot go unnoticed. You collaborated with sister security agencies to get the job done.
“You played a crucial role in strengthening the security architecture and fostering collaboration between the police force and the state government to safeguard lives and property,” Soludo said.
