‘Stop Playing Dirty Politics With Children’s Lives’ – Femi Branch Over Makinde’s Remarks

Nollywood actor Femi Branch has called on Nigerian politicians to desist from politicising the plight of schoolchildren, following the release of 46 abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire in Oyo State.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, Branch expressed concern over the continuous abduction of schoolchildren across the country and condemned remarks by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, which he said suggested political undertones in the incident.

“I just want to make an appeal… whatever dirty politics we’re all playing, can we just leave the innocent children out of it? The children in this country are suffering enough,” Branch pleaded. 

He stressed that the victims, who spent 56 days in captivity, must now be deeply traumatised and require urgent care.

The actor criticised the poor state of education and urged leaders to focus on improving schools rather than dragging children into political battles.
