Afrobeats star, Davido has revealed that overseas education has long been a tradition in his family, tracing the practice back to his grandfather’s generation.
Speaking in a recent interview that has gained attention on social media, the award-winning singer explained that his grandfather ensured his children received education abroad, particularly in the United States.
According to Davido, his father attended university in Kentucky, describing international education as a culture that has been maintained within the family for decades.
“My grandfather was a senator, and most of his children were sent to America for their education. My dad went to university in Kentucky,” he said.
The singer noted that studying abroad is common among many affluent African families, adding that the trend has continued across generations.
