Super Falcons boost WAFCON title defence with Zambia victory

Nigeria’s Super Falcons revived their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign with a resilient 1-0 victory over Zambia, overcoming a second-half numerical disadvantage to claim a crucial three points in Rabat.

The win reignited the hopes of the 10-time African champions after their shock opening defeat and moved them back into contention for a place in the knockout stage.

Oshoala strikes early

Asisat Oshoala proved to be the match-winner, scoring the only goal in the eighth minute after latching onto a precise pass inside the box and calmly finishing past the Zambian goalkeeper.
