Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s directive to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) without first suspending officials allegedly linked to the scandal.
In a post on his X handle Tuesday, Ibe described the move as “flagrantly wrong,” arguing that key figures, including Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, should have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
“Not suspending all those involved in the #GbajaGate scandal is akin to them being a judge in their own case. Their continued stay in office while the investigation is going on gives them the opportunity to interfere with the process,” Ibe stated.
