Taraba state governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has signed three Executive Orders aimed at addressing security, social and environmental challenges in the state, with a focus on combating drug abuse, political thuggery and the illegal exploitation of natural resources.
The Executive Orders, signed over the weekend, are designed to strengthen the enforcement of existing laws, enhance public safety and protect communities affected by environmental degradation caused by illegal activities.
One of the Executive Orders reinforces the prohibition of drug abuse by providing stronger legal backing for the enforcement of laws against the abuse of illicit drugs and controlled substances.
“The measure became necessary following increasing concerns over the growing incidence of substance abuse and its links to criminality, violence and social instability,” Kefas said.
