Terra Industries has partnered with Miva Open University to strengthen talent development in artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity and autonomous systems, as both organisations seek to bridge the gap between academic learning and Africa’s growing demand for deep-tech skills.
The collaboration will provide Miva students with access to industry-led learning, practical research opportunities and mentorship from Terra’s engineering teams, exposing them to real-world challenges in defence technology, autonomous systems and critical infrastructure protection.
The partnership comes as Nigeria intensifies efforts to build indigenous technological capabilities across strategic sectors, including defence manufacturing, cybersecurity and advanced engineering.
Universities are collaborating with private technology firms to equip graduates with industry-relevant skills and accelerate innovation.
The agreement is expected to expose students to emerging technologies powering modern security operations, including artificial intelligence, unmanned aerial systems, robotics and data intelligence, while encouraging collaborative research that addresses local industrial and national security challenges.
