Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have continued offensive operations, resulting in the voluntary surrender of 17 family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) in separate incidents in Borno State.
In a statement issued by Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, Maiduguri, on Wednesday.
According to him, the latest surrender is a direct result of the ongoing operational activities carried out by troops to dismantle terrorist enclaves, disrupt their communication and logistics lines, and deny them freedom of movement within the theatre of operations.
“In the first incident, at about 9:15 a.m on 4 August 2026, 16 JAS family members, consisting of 10 women and 6 children, voluntarily surrendered to troops of 222 Battalion while on a domination patrol along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
