The Universal Basic Education Commission in partnership with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board on Thursday flagged off the distribution of 15,675 teaching and learning materials to public primary schools across the state’s 20 Local Government Education Authorities.
The exercise, held at LASUBEB’s Multi-Purpose Hall in Maryland, Ikeja, also included the distribution of HOPE EDU instructional materials for Early Childhood Care, Development and Education and Integrated Qur’anic Tsangaya Education schools.
The initiative forms part of UBEC’s nationwide distribution of educational materials under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at improving access to quality basic education.
Representing the Executive Secretary of UBEC, the South-West Zonal Director, Beatrice Okei, said the intervention reflected the commission’s commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian child had access to quality, inclusive and equitable basic education.
