The Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Ope George, has called for stronger collaboration between government, the private sector and civil society in tackling urban development challenges.
He spoke on Wednesday while serving as chairman of the day at the Ikeja Club’s 60th Anniversary Lecture, themed “The Urban City and the Urban Club.”
George congratulated the Ikeja Club on attaining 60 years of existence.
“We highly congratulate the President, Board of Trustees and the entire members of Ikeja Club on the celebration of this remarkable milestone. Sixty years of excellence and service to society,” he said.
He said anniversaries such as this went beyond mere celebration.
“Diamond anniversaries are not merely celebrations of longevity. They are celebrations of enduring redress, visionary leadership, and meaningful contribution to community development,” George said.
