Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has outlined conditions for honouring the police invitation over allegations he made against the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Moshood Jimoh.
In a statement issued by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, on his Instagram handle on Wednesday, the activist said he was prepared to appear before investigators but insisted that the process must be transparent to guarantee public confidence.
The development follows the Nigeria Police Force’s invitation to VeryDarkMan to appear before the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja, to provide evidence supporting allegations he made against the AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said the police remained committed to due process, institutional discipline and the rule of law amid the controversy involving the two parties.
