Cameroon head coach Valentine Nguélé has acknowledged that the Super Falcons of Nigeria are the favourites ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash.
Nigeria earned their spot in the last eight by defeating Egypt 6-2 in their final Group C match, while Cameroon progressed as the winners of Group D.
“Nigeria is a very formidable footballing nation. They are the favorites in this tournament with ten titles to their credit. The Super Falcons qualified under more favorable conditions than we did. We will encourage the players to enjoy the experience,” Nguélé stated, as reported by Camfoot.
She said Cameroon will enter the match with an optimistic outlook.
“The girls are prepared to play with a positive mindset. We must express our gratitude to the Lord. We have been granted a second chance. We find ourselves in the quarter-finals, which is a bonus. What transpires tomorrow (today)
