Several members of Nigeria’s Super Falcons have reportedly fallen victim to a theft incident at their team hotel in Casablanca, Morocco, just days before the start of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The players are said to have discovered that cash kept in their wallets had gone missing after returning to their hotel rooms.
This incident has raised concerns within the camp as preparations intensify for the continental tournament.
The Nigerian team is currently lodged at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca, where they have been holding their final training sessions ahead of the competition.
Reports from the camp indicate that a number of players noticed discrepancies in the money they had left among their personal belongings. The missing funds were allegedly discovered at different times by the affected players.
Among those reportedly affected is forward Esther Okoronkwo, who is said to have lost $700.
