Prominent activist lawyer Aloy Ejimakor has called on President Bola Tinubu to issue a strong warning to the South African government over the safety of Nigerian citizens in the country amid rising xenophobic attacks.
Ejimakor, who also serves as Special Advisor to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), urged the President to make it clear that there will be serious repercussions if any Nigerian is harmed by South African mobs.
In a strongly worded statement titled ‘Dear black South Africans, especially the Zulu’, Ejimakor condemned what he described as “#afrophobia” towards fellow black Africans, calling it “very shameful.”
He reminded South Africans of the significant support Nigeria and other African nations provided during the anti-apartheid struggle. “Before you raise your next hand at another black African living in South Africa, remember that South Africa was the only country in the world that the whole of black Africa came together
