‘We suffered for 40 years’ — Kaduna residents praise Uba Sani over road, bridge projects

 Residents of Zaria and Sabon Gari LGAs have commended the road and bridge projects being executed by the administration of Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna.

 

The residents spoke during a statewide media tour of ongoing and completed infrastructure projects organised by the Kaduna state government and led by Ahmed Maiyaki, commissioner for information and culture.

 

Ibrahim Abubakar, a farmer from Anguwar Jaba in Sabon Gari LGA, said the construction of the Anguwar Jaba-Kakiyayi Bridge has ended more than four decades of hardship for residents.

 

According to Abubakar, successive administrations failed to construct the bridge despite repeated appeals, leaving farming communities cut off during the rainy season.

 

 

“For more than 40 years, we suffered because there was no bridge linking our communities. During the rainy season, farmers could not access their farmlands or transport produce to the markets,” he said.
