Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congres, APC, in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has declared that no public school in the state can perform beyond its current level.
Alli noted that this is because public schools in the state are not being given the necessary funds and subventions needed to thrive.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the APC, made these declarations while addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Ibadan on Monday.
The APC candidate, while speaking on the state of education in the state, explained that the state produced some of the best results a few years ago.
Alli, however, regretted that the state’s education sector is currently declining due to the involvement of consultants and the non-release of subventions and funds to schools to enable them perform optimally.
