Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has delivered his sternest warning yet to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, asserting that the governor’s attempt to dismantle the political machinery that brought him to office has severely compromised his prospects for a second term.
Speaking during a live media chat with selected radio stations in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike stated that the breakdown in their political relationship stemmed directly from Fubara’s decision to dismantle the political machinery that facilitated his election victory.
According to the former Rivers State governor, Fubara began distancing himself from his political base barely 100 days after assuming office, an action that alienated key stakeholders, disrupted internal party cohesion, and sparked the prolonged governance deadlock currently affecting the state.
Wike emphasised that political continuity depends on maintaining the coalitions that secure power, arguing that attempting to reconfigure established structures mid-tenure invites unnecessary instability. He noted that the
