The American experiment is an extraordinary collaborative project. No one group can credibly claim responsibility for our nation’s accomplishments. And while not all the contributions were voluntary, rightfully attributed, or justly compensated, so much of what America has produced—airplanes, jazz, blood banks, light bulbs—has undeniably changed the world for the better.
Sometimes in spite of ourselves, we’ve mixed cultures and ideas to create true beauty and utility. We benefit from one another’s sacrifices and ingenuity even if we’re not always willing to acknowledge it.
