The Yobe State Government has constituted a 15-member technical committee for the establishment of Local Government Development Area Councils, LGDACs, in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hussaini Mai Suleh, on behalf of the state government.
According to the statement, the committee was established to bring government closer to the people, deepen development at the grassroots level, and enhance citizens’ participation in governance.
Governor Mai Mala Buni approved the committee, with the Deputy Governor, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, serving as Chairman.
Members of the Committee are: the Speaker, Yobe State House of Assembly; Permanent Secretaries, Ministries for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Finance; Budget and Economic Planning; Justice; the Local Government Service Commission; and those of Transport and Energy.
Others are Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs; Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters; Director General, Yobe Geographic Information System;
