Yohanna makes Brighton debut in pre-season win

Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna made his first appearance for Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, coming off the bench as Fabian Hürzeler’s side defeated AS Roma 3-0 in a pre-season friendly at the American Express Stadium.

The teenager entered the game from the substitutes’ bench to get his first taste of action in Brighton colours following his summer move from AIK.

Yohanna, who signed a five-year contract with Brighton until June 2031, joined the Premier League club from AIK on undisclosed terms.

The 19-year-old had made 18 appearances for AIK before his move to England, scoring five goals and providing four assists, according to Brighton. AIK’s own announcement, however, records three assists, so the safer formulation is to retain Brighton’s figure if using the club’s official profile.
