President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has dismissed Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi as “clueless,” following remarks Obi made about his time as governor of Anambra State.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Obi recalled how he sought direct intervention from former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua during emergencies in Anambra, including erosion disasters and violent robberies.
He said both leaders responded promptly to his calls.Reacting on X, Onanuga wrote: “Obi was clueless then and is clueless now.”
The comment adds to ongoing tensions between the Presidency and opposition figures, with Obi frequently criticizing the government’s handling of national issues and positioning himself as a key challenger ahead of the 2027 elections.
