You Have Right to Leave, But it Won’t Affect Our Party – Bauchi APC Tells Defectors

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has downplayed the recent defection of some of its members to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), insisting the exits will not weaken the party.

 

In a statement on Thursday, the APC affirmed its unity and strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.The party’s reaction follows the defection of Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents Bauchi South Senatorial District. He left the APC for the PRP shortly after stepping down from the party’s governorship primary. 

Other notable politicians, including Samaila Kaila Dahuwa, Rabilu Bala Kashuri, and Shehu Aliyu Musa, also resigned from the APC along with their supporters. 

Reacting to the development, the APC State Publicity Secretary, Shehu Dauda Mohammed, signed a statement acknowledging that individuals have the right to join any political party of their choice.However, the party warned against exaggerating the impact of these departures.
