Zenith Bank probes cyberattack after customer data access

Zenith Bank has launched an investigation into a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access to limited customer information, including email addresses and phone numbers, saying the incident is linked to a broader global cyberattack targeting organisations across multiple sectors.

The bank disclosed the incident in a customer advisory, assuring customers that its banking services and digital channels remain secure and fully operational.

According to a public notice issued by Zenith Bank, the unauthorised access was limited to customer contact information and did not disrupt the availability or operation of its banking services. The bank did not disclose the number of customers affected or provide details about how the attackers gained access to the information.

“Zenith Bank is investigating unauthorised access to limited customer information including email addresses and phone numbers. This incident is part of a broader, global cyberattack targeting multiple international organizations across various sectors,” the bank said.
