The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Yemi Oyeniyi, has directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to strengthen security around schools, correctional centres, churches and mosques across the state.

Oyeniyi gave the directive during a meeting with members of the command management team, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Departments.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bright Edafe.
