
The Kogi State Police Command on Thursday inaugurated the Violent Crime Response Unit, Kogi state Command to aid the fight against violent crimes in the state.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Lokoja, the State Police commissioner, Bello Kankarofi, said that the unit was in line with the operational directive of the inspector general of Police, IG Olatunji Disu.
“It is with a deep sense of duty and commitment to the safety of lives and property that I warmly welcome you all to this historic occasion marking the official inauguration and operational launch.
“At this point, I wish to respectfully acknowledge the visionary leadership and operational directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, whose reform-driven policing framework provided the basis for the establishment of this specialised tactical unit across Commands of the Federation,” he said.
