
The Alajue Community in Ede, Osun State, has called for a government-private support to enhance its capacity for production of palm oil for domestic and industrial use.
The Olu of Alajue, Oba Sulaimon Adebayo, said with right support, the community could produce quality palm oil for local consumption and export to other countries.
He stated this during an annual carnival to round up Eid celebrations which he organised for the residents of the community, according to a statement made available to Sunday PUNCH on Saturday.
Oba Adebayo, who said the major occupation of the majority of the residents is palm oil production, called for citing of a cottage industry that will add value to the commodity in the town.
