The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has decried the recent wave of political violence across the state, urging residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding ahead of the forthcoming election.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Oyebamiji commiserated with victims of the attacks, describing the incidents as “unfortunate” and stressing that democracy must be decided at the ballot box, not through intimidation or bloodshed.

“Democracy is a contest of ideas, vision and service to the people. There is no political office, including the office of Governor, that is worth the blood of any human being,” he said.

Oyebamiji alleged that APC supporters were attacked in Owode-Ede, while buses belonging to his campaign were vandalized.

He further claimed that party members participating in a peaceful rally in Ifeland were assaulted by hoodlums linked to the ruling government, leaving several injured.

Reports also indicated assaults in Osogbo, with some individuals shot at, though
