The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday inaugurated its national campaign council for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, with top party leaders in attendance to back Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
The inauguration took place at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (who is also Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum) were among the prominent figures present.
The campaign council is chaired by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, with Senate President Akpabio serving as co-chairman and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as secretary.
In a statement after the event, Governor Dapo Abiodun described the inauguration as “another significant step in our collective resolve to consolidate the gains of progressive governance and ensure electoral success for our party in Ekiti State.”
