2027: “I Have No Godfather” — Fubara Breaks Silence on Rivers Governorship Ambition

The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Rivers State, Blessing Fubara, has dismissed claims that his political ambition is tied to the influence of his elder brother, Governor Sim Fubara.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Friday, the governorship hopeful said his political journey is independent and driven by his personal convictions.

He insisted that he does not have any political godfather, declaring that his faith in God remains his only source of strength and direction.

“I don’t have a godfather but I have God the father. You would also agree with me that if my ambition is determined by the grounds you are mentioning, it would mean I have no clear vision or focus for what I am working toward,” he said.

Blessing Fubara also rejected suggestions that his aspiration is an extension of the political structure associated with the Rivers State governor.
